Use Caution on Riley Rd This Morning

FYI-As you may know, crews have been installing a water main along Riley Road.  Please be careful when driving on the hill this morning.  With the rain, the mud on the road has made it very slippery.  Go Slow!

Don't Miss the Meteor Shower!

    Between 2 and 4 am Saturday morning, a meteor shower should be visible in the northern section of the sky.  Be sure to set your clock to go out and take a look.  They say there may be as many as 100 streaks per hour!  So don't miss it--make a memory!

   This week's Stock Up Alert is at Meijer again.  They have Florida bi-color sweet corn 8 ears for $1.00! What an amazing price!  Just  12.5 cents per ear!  I plan on buying a bunch and freezing it!

Memorial Day Parade

     The Alexandria Memorial Day Parade will be on May 25th starting at the South lot of Campbell County Middle School at 2pm.  It will end at the Alexandria VFW.  Please plan travel in Alexandria accordingly!  There will be long closures around the parade route.

The Farmer's Market was Open for Business!

I am so excited! The Farmers Market was open for business today!  The Farmer's Market is held every Friday from 3-6pm at the bowling alley in Alexandria.  Here are pics from today's Farmer's Market.

 

 

Megan Oldiges was working at the Neltner's Farm stand.

Mrs. Claire Neltner was hiding from the camera on the left side of the truck!

Their produce looked amazing!  I  just had to have some of

the lettuce and the tomatoes!

 

Marty's Waffle Truck was there also!

According to the person I spoke with in the truck, Marty's Waffles will be back next week!

The Nutella Waffle has my name on it next Friday!

 

Please stop out and support these local businesses.  Just joining the Farmer's Market has a hefty fee and the vendors pay to set up weekly.

National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

                                 

    Saturday May 10th, is the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive carried out by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Please help Stamp Out Hunger in our area!  Collect and bag non-perishable foods like peanut butter, canned meats, vegetables, pasta, and rice and place by your mailbox Saturday morning. All food gathered stays in the area collected and will help feed the needy in our community. Please remember not to place glass jars, or expired items in the bag.   Imagine, if every family donated just one food item, just how much food would be collected to feed the hungry. Help Stamp Out Hunger!

Water Main Installation on Riley Rd

Alexandria Police announced that the installation of the water main on Riley Rd. is going to cause possible long delays during the day time and they recommend using another route.  The installation is beginning to come up the winding, curvy part of the road so please use caution when travelling on Riley Rd.
